This is Sheniz Erkan, at approximately 2pm on January 9th 2012, she took her own life at such a young age. Her death has rocked my whole community, everyone from her school, or even just from the area are supporting her friends, family and are trying to make bullying stop. I didn’t know her, but from what I have heard, she was always smiling. This beautiful girl got to the point where she could not take what was coming at her, she couldn’t take being called names. Her friends, once they found out what was going on, tried to help her. But it was too late.
Last night, I was on the phone to a friend of mine who was really good friends with her. I had never heard him cry, be upset, or anything, until that very moment. It broke my heart to hear the tears in his voice, at that very moment I wished I could have been there by his side. He was telling me that she didn’t tell anyone, she just left a note for her parents early that morning and left.
Then it made me think, how can someone wake up one morning and say to themselves “hey, today i’m gonna take my own life” Imagine the pain they would be going through at that very moment to make that decision to jump in front of a train, OD, or hang themselves.
Suicide is not the answer for anyone who is being bullied, and i wish there was a better way to help these poor people going through this shit. I wish the people who bullied this beautiful girl to her death regret every moment of it !
R.I.P beautiful girl, you’re in a better place now. Forever will you be missed and in our hearts. <3
